Dr. George Iskander is a compassionate and highly skilled physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with advanced expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques. With a strong commitment to women’s health, Dr. Iskander is especially focused on the diagnosis and treatment of uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, and conditions requiring hysterectomy—utilizing the latest advances in laparoscopic and robotic surgery to ensure faster recovery, less pain, and better outcomes for his patients.
Dr. Iskander began his medical journey in Egypt, earning his medical degree in 2007 from the esteemed University of Assiut School of Medicine. His passion for surgical excellence led him to the United States, where he completed a rigorous residency in General Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. His commitment to women’s reproductive health then inspired him to pursue further specialization, completing a second residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, one of the nation’s leading academic medical institutions.
Throughout his training and professional practice, Dr. Iskander has been recognized for his meticulous surgical skills, patient-centered care, and dedication to clinical excellence. He is particularly known for integrating advanced technologies into his surgical approach, offering patients safer, less invasive alternatives to traditional open procedures.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Iskander is deeply involved in community service and global health outreach. A native Egyptian, he is passionate about supporting and uplifting the Arabic-speaking population in the Northern Virginia area, where he currently resides with his wife and newborn son. Dr. Iskander is fluent in Arabic and takes pride in providing culturally sensitive care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
He is also an active member of the Coptic Orthodox Church, where he volunteers his time in local outreach programs and church-led community initiatives.
